Signs of the times

Dear Reader, if it will interest you why these catastrophic events like wars, floods, tsunamis, typhoons, earthquakes are happening.

I believe it has something to do with the endtimes if not God's wrath on humanity.

There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. - Luke 21:25-26

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. - Matthew 24:5-8

Predestination or Free will?

I believe in predestination. My basis is the Bible. It seems that everything is predestined.

In the Bible, even before you were born, God already knew you and He already made plans for you. The same way when Jesus talk about the end of times. And so far, even the prophecy of the coming of the Messiah in the Old Testament was fulfilled in the New Testament. Even Jesus' death on the crucifixion and Judas' part in it was foretold in the book of Isaiah. If this is not predestination, how is it that these prophecies came true.

In the same way that we are now living in modern times. I still believe that the Bible is the same, yesterday, now, and in the future. That's why Bible believers still hold that Jesus is coming, and you do not know the day or the hour. I know there are lots of skeptics, agnostics, atheists in mtc but to each his own, right?

My belief does not stem from Blaise Pascal's wager or Soren Kierkeegard's leap of faith but simply in the Bible. I hold the Bible to be true and is still relevant to this day.

So going back. To me, we really don't have free will. We thought we are acting on our own freewill but I believe in the saying, if it's God's will. see? whatever actions or decisions we make will only lead to "God's will" for us and will only contribute to the situation or event.

We are like pawns and all our actions are just a small part of the big picture but are necessary to contribute to the big picture. So whatever we do, in the end, mankind will face Judgment day and we will have to account for God on Judgement day. Yes, I believe that even if we will not live to see the day when the endtimes come, we who are dead will rise up to account for God and face our Maker for what we have done while here on earth.
